Uptown Fashion Week Proudly Welcomes Ford Motor Company As The Official Automotive Sponsor!!ntitled Promotion 2‏

NEW YORK, N.Y., September 1, 2015– As New York City prepares for its bi-annual week-long celebration of fashion, the uptown fashion scene prepares to go further. This year, Uptown Fashion Week welcomes Ford Motor Company as the official automotive sponsor for its 2015 offerings.

Each year, the breadth and diversity of Uptown Fashion Week reaches new altitudes through the endless commitment and hard work of its organizers and sponsors. From the support of Delta Airlines, for three consecutive years, to the continuous involvement of Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, and the constant encouragement from our local community, Uptown Fashion Week has been given the opportunity to grow immensely throughout the years. “We are honored that a company like Ford Motor Company, recognizes the work of our Latino designers from across the country and around the world by supporting our vision,” said Albania Rosario, Executive Director of Uptown Fashion Week.

“Ford has a long history of supporting our local communities and creating platforms that allow our creative cultures to thrive, such as Fashionistas de Ford.” Said Sisko-Anthony Cruz, New York Hispanic Communications Director for Ford Motor Company. He added, “We are excited to partner with an organization such as Uptown Fashion Week, who works diligently to highlight the talent of these incredible emerging designers.”

Back in 2010 during our inception, our showcase consisted of only six designers. Now in our fifth year, we will be featuring a full-presentation with over twenty-nine designers. As we step into this new chapter in our celebration of fashion, we are privileged to work with designers from various cultural backgrounds, which without-a-doubt represent the pillars through which we founded UFW.

From renowned designers that showcased during Dominican Republic’s Fashion Week—such as Jorge Diep, Tony Boga, Angie Polanco, Miguel Genao and more—to a multitude of other Latin American designers that are flying-in to showcase on this show, we are certainly growing our repertoire year after year. We hope that giving a voice and platform for international designers and talents to reach their expanding marketplace will be our legacy and we that companies such as Ford Motor Company, allow us to get there for years to come.
